If you live in the USA then a dealer should be able to help you with the year. As a rule only 86 LS650 87 LS650H, 88 were LS650J then 95s were LS650S, 96 =T, 97= V, 98= W. The inbetween years bike could have be imported by returning military or civilians from countries that had them. Import is supposed to be difficult but not impossible and happened through Canada in some cases. A late 94 could have been sold by the distributor after being used for the press pool and cycle shows. As resale and insurance replacment value is based on year, I'd take the time to get the paperwork corrected sooner rather than later. In any case if it tuens out to be an 89 rather than 94, I'd be looking for some refund of purchase price, unless it was a great deal for an 89. Max
